Article IV - Officers

Section 1. QUALIFICATIONS

Officers of the church will be members in good standing who have demonstrated spiritual maturity and commitment to prayer, and who are active in the support of the total ministry of the church.

Section 2. DUTIES

Chair
The chair will preside at all congregational business meetings of the church and meetings of the council. The chair will confer with the senior pastor in preparing the agenda for such meetings. The chair will be responsible for leadership of the church services in the absence of the pastor. The chair will be an ex-officio member of all ministries and committees of the church.

Vice-Chair
The vice-chair will assist the chair, and during his or her absence assume that office and its duties.

Secretary
The secretary will keep and preserve the minutes of all the congregational business meetings of the church and meetings of the council, will conduct and preserve all official correspondence as will be delegated to the secretary. The secretary will also be responsible for the official seal and documents of the church. The secretary will, upon completion of term of office, surrender and deliver all official minutes and correspondence to the successor in office.

Financial Secretary
The financial secretary will receive, record and transmit to the church treasurer; records of all funds contributed to the church; and will report to contributors a record of their giving.

Treasurer
The treasurer will be responsible for all funds committed to him or her and will make disbursements as authorized by the church or the council. The treasurer will also present a written report of the receipts and expenditures to each regular business meeting of the council and to each regular congregational business meeting.
