Article VI - Committees

Section 1. PASTORAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The council will function as the pastoral relations committee and will meet at least annually in keeping with the program and purpose of the denomination's Commission of Pastoral Relations.

Section 2. NOMINATING COMMITTEE
  • This committee will consist of two council members elected by the council and three church members at large. The nominating committee will serve for one year beginning at the annual meeting part two in February.
  • The committee will prepare and present to the annual meeting part one in November a ballot listing candidates to fill each expiring council seat.
  • The committee will also prepare and present to the annual meeting part two in February a ballot listing candidates for:
    • Three nominating committee seats
    • Delegates to the annual meeting of the East Coast Conference;
    • Delegates to the annual meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
  • The nominating committee will provide for additional candidates who may be nominated from the floor, and will confirm the willingness of each candidate to serve before listing his or her name on the ballot.
Section 3. SPECIAL COMMITTEES

Special committees for specific purposes may be appointed by any duly constituted business meeting of the congregation or the council according to need. Unless specifically extended, a special committee will terminate at the end of the calendar year.
